Jetty Park Beach: Downtown Orlando’s Closest Beach

Sometimes the best part of a vacation is having a fun beach day with the family. When you are in Florida, there are plenty of options for Orlando beaches to choose from. If you want a beach that has everything you could ever need within reach, then Jetty Park might be the closest beach to Orlando that meets your needs. Jetty Park is the closest beach to Disney World where you can rent pavilions for parties, swim in waters with a lifeguard year-round, and stay on the beach late. Read on to learn more about what Jetty Park Beach has to offer your family, and why it’s one of the best beaches near Orlando. From downtown Orlando, Jetty Park Beach is the closest beach, accessible by car in under an hour in fair traffic conditions.

Everything You Need You Can Rent

Don’t get us wrong, Orlando beaches are a lot of fun, but a beach day can also be a lot of work! You have to lug around chairs, umbrellas, and snacks. Not to mention, you have to pack up and bring the kids, which is a whole different struggle! Well, Jetty Park Beach can help with all of that…except maybe the kids.

You can rent almost anything under the sun (literally)! There’s a vendor located on Jetty Park Beach that carries rentals for:

  • Boogie Boards
  • Chairs
  • Kayaks
  • Paddle Boards
  • Umbrellas

Also, there’s no need to pack food. Fishlips is a full-service concession stand open as early as 7:00 AM and closing at 7:00 PM. While you’re there, be sure to go on the second floor of the concession stand for a beautiful sunset experience!

Open Late

Fishlips isn’t the only part of Jetty Park Beach to stay open late. While many of the beaches near Orlando close around sunset, Jetty Park Beach remains open until 11 pm during peak season. This makes Jetty Park Beach the closest beach to Disney World with the best stargazing spots.

Great Camping Experience

Speaking of stargazing, what makes Jetty Park Beach one of the best beaches near Orlando is that it’s an awesome place to camp. Just like their beach rental area, the park’s campground has it all. Jetty Park has cabin rentals, tent camping areas, and full hookups for RVs.

What’s great about Florida is that the weather is beautiful all-year round. Therefore, camping is an option any time of the year. Just be aware that prices go up in the winter. That’s when the snowbirds head on down to vacation with family members at the closest beach to Disney World.

Host a Party

There’s plenty of room to party over this 35 acre Port Canaveral hotspot. Jetty Park has 14 pavilions available for rental. Conveniently enough, each pavilion comes with its own grill and tables. This makes Jetty Park Beach the closest beach to Orlando with the best party accommodations.

These pavilions come in two sizes:

  • 2 large pavilions – comfortably hosts 60-80 guests ($75)
  • 12 small pavilions – comfortably hosts 6-10 guests ($25)

As you noticed, there are two different price points for these renting these pavilions. Please note, these prices do not include the entrance fee to get into the park.

Long Fishing Pier

If fishing is a priority when you are searching for the closest beach to Disney World, then Jetty Park Beach might be the stop for you. Jetty Park Beach boasts a 1,200 foot fishing pier that extends into the Atlantic. While you’re fishing, keep an eye out for dolphins in the distance, rays floating about, and pelicans diving down, trying to do the same thing you are!

Keep in mind that in the state of Florida you are required to obtain a fishing license prior to casting a line in the Atlantic. Therefore, in order to go fishing at Jetty Park Beach, you must contact the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission about getting a Florida Saltwater Fishing License.
